Le concept de Black Belt Watch
Black Belt Watch est une montre manufacturée en Suisse exclusivement réservée aux ceintures noires, tous arts martiaux confondus. Chaque pratiquant doit se munir de son certificat de passage délivré par les fédérations officielles.

Black Belt Watch soutient le programme “No Difference” et attribue un pourcentage de ses ventes à la fondation “Little Dreams” afin que les personnes handicapés puissent se réaliser dans la pratique d’un art martial.

L’équipe Black Belt Watch
Les combattants ceintures noires Claudio Alessi et Yvan Arpa ont crée, en association avec des horlogers suisses et dans le respect des 7 vertus du Bushido, une montre qui incarne: GI droite, Yu courage, Jin bienveillance, Rei respect, Makoto sincérité, Meiyo honneur, Chugi loyauté.

Claudio Alessi, maitre reconnu des Arts Martiaux a été titré Champion du Monde et à plusieurs reprises Champion d’Europe et de Suisse. Seinseï pluri-disciplinaire, il a initié l’Art du Libre Combat et développe une méthode d’enseignement martial pour les personnes handicapés.

Yvan Arpa, après 14 finales de Karaté avec et contre son ami et adversaire de toujours quitte les tatamis de compétition pour l’horlogerie Suisse où il contribue notamment au succès de Sector No limit, Big Bang de Hublot avant de bousculer les codes de l’horlogerie au sein de Romain Jerome en créant le concept “DNA of Famous Legends”. Il signe deux collections “Titanic-DNA“ et “Moon Dust-DNA” toutes à son image, à la foi créatives et audacieuses. Pour Black Belt Watch, il déssine ici un modèle fort en symbole et en charge émotionnelle.

As a tribute to the Bushido code of conduct and its 7 virtues, the black belt fighters, Claudio Alessi and Yvan Arpa, teamed up with Swiss watchmakers and created a timepiece cloaked with Gi rectitude, Yu courage, Jin benevolence, Rei respect, Makoto honesty, Meiyo honor, Chugi Loyalty.

The renowned Martial Art master, Claudio Alessi gained the World Championship title along with those of several European and Swiss Championships. This multi style Senei who is Mixed Martial Arts instructor has also developed a specific technique to teach Martial Arts to disabled people.

After 14 hard fought karate final matches, with and against his friend and competitor, Yvan Arpa decided to leave the tournament’s tatami mats and join the challenging Swiss watchmaking scene. His sharp marketing vision fueled for success Sector No limit, the Hublot Big Bang and Romain Jerome, where he created an overnight sensation with the “DNA of Famous Legends” concept. He produced two collections “Titanic-DNA“ and “Moon Dust-DNA”. Both became bywords for innovations, daring design and superb craftsmanship. The Black Belt Watch’s in an eloquent expression on his crativity, brimming with symbols and emotions.

Lancée en 2008 à l’occasion de Baselworld, Day&Night, l’un des symboles forts de la réflexion philosophique apportée par la Maison horlogère Romain Jerome, proposait une nouvelle mesure du temps s’articulant autour de deux Tourbillons dont le fonctionnement séquentiel scindait l’univers temporel en deux segments : Le jour versus la nuit.
Plébiscitée mais aussi fortement controversée, cette création de Haute Horlogerie auparavant dépourvue d’aiguilles, se voit attribuer la fonction antagoniste et conventionnelle d’indiquer l’heure, comme l’entend tout un chacun… Une hérésie !
Que les Bien-pensants ne se réjouissent pas si vite, la nouvelle édition de la Day&Night change de front et célèbre la créativité horlogère cette fois en posant une réflexion sur la liberté de création du mouvement symbolisée ici par un spiral appliqué sur son cadran.
Que ses fervents défenseurs se rassurent, la Day&Night flanquée de son cadran spiral est plus que jamais le symbole de la créativité d’une Maison qui affirme ainsi sa volonté de défendre la liberté d’expression…artistique!

Launched in 2008 at Baselworld, Day&Night was a potent symbol of the philosophical thinking of watchmakers Romain Jerome. It brought a new system of time measurement hingeing on the sequential operation of two Tourbillons that divided the temporal world into two segments: day versus night.

Received with immense public acclaim, but also evoking considerable controversy, this creation of Haute Horlogerie, formerly devoid of hands, is now entrusted with the contradictory and conventional task of displaying the time of day as ordinary people understand it – what a heresy!

However, Right-Thinking people should not rejoice too soon: the new edition of Day&Night changes tack and this time celebrates watchmaking creativity by offering food for thought on the creative freedom of the movement, symbolized here by a spiral applied on its dial.

Let its fervent admirers be reassured. The Day&Night with its spiral dial is more than ever a symbol of the creativity of a watchmaking House that in this way asserts its determination to defend freedom of expression – in the arts!

* The oxidized steel bezels are a product of the astonishing fusion of authentic steel from the wreck of the Titanic, lying 3,840 metres deep on the sea-bed, and steel supplied by the shipbuilders Harland & Wolff of Belfast, where the Titanic was built nearly a century ago. A notarized certificate authenticates the origin of the materials used.
