À une heure de route à l’ouest de Londres, entre Northampton et Oxford, le site de Silverstone est principalement connu pour le Grand Prix de Grande-Bretagne qu’il a accueilli pour la première fois en 1948. C’est le 13 mai 1950 qu’a eu lieu à Silverstone la course inaugurale du tout premier Championnat mondial de Formule 1 de la FIA.
Originally launched in 1974, the SILVERSTONE chronograph gets its name from the famous racetrack of the same name. An hour’s drive west of London, between Northampton and Oxford, Silverstone is best known as the home of the British Grand Prix, which it first hosted in 1948. On May 13th 1950, the opening race of the 1st ever FIA Formula One World Championship started at Silverstone.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the launch of the first selfwinding chronograph movement, Breitling is introducing two limited editions of its Chrono-Matic model, featuring a look inspired by the 1969 original and equipped with precious leap-year or perpetual calendars.

For its 125th anniversary, Breitling has chosen to issue a limited series of the model that became the first wrist chronograph to experience space travel. Only 1,000 of these Cosmonaute watches will be produced, all equipped for the occasion with an original version of the intriguing 24-hour dial.
