Hublot: Big Bang Polo de Paris

En 2008, pour annoncer son partenariat avec le Polo Club de Gstaad et pour présenter son nouvel ambassadeur argentin Miguel Novillo Astrada, Hublot avait choisi l’Argentine. Quelques semaines après ces rencontres fructueuses et amicales a été organisé à Buenos Aires le fameux « Perfect Match » qui réunissait les meilleurs joueurs du monde. Hublot s’est aussitôt engagé avec eux (et aux côtés de Miguel) dans l’aventure : il s’agissait de faire revivre un match mythique qui avait eu lieu une seule fois dans l’histoire du polo, en 1975, auquel avaient pris part 8 joueurs possédant un handicap de 10 (qualification maximale dans cette discipline). Le match, baptisé « 80 Goles », s’est déroulé au Club Centauros de Buenos Aires et Hublot a, là encore, côtoyé le sommet de l’art de ce sport.

En 2009, le « Match Parfait » se déroule pour la première fois hors d’Argentine, et c’est au Polo de Paris. En effet l’Association des Joueurs de Polo Argentins a souhaité exporter cet événement hors du commun. « Bagatelle » propose aujourd’hui un spectacle qui porte désormais le nom « Hublot, the Perfect Polo Match ». L’horloger suisse se réjouit d’associer son nom à ce match prestigieux qui promet de rester dans les mémoires … Pour marquer cette grande première sur sol européen, Hublot a créé une Big Bang à l’effigie du Club parisien, qui porte le logo Polo de Paris sur son cadran, et dont le fond est décalqué « Hublot, the Perfect Polo Match ». La série est composée de 50 pièces numérotées.

Miguel Novillo Astrada

L’ambassadeur des montres Hublot est une personnalité du polo bien connue pour son parcours de joueur extraordinaire, ayant acquis à 29 ans le privilège de faire partie des rares joueurs dans le monde à avoir un handicap de 10. Issu d’une famille qui perpétue la tradition du jeu depuis des générations, il fait partie avec ses quatre frères d’une des équipes les plus titrées de l’histoire du polo, la « Aguada Polo Club » qui incarne la constance dans l’excellence sportive.

In 2008, to announce its partnership with Gstaad Polo Club and to present its new Argentinian ambassador Miguel Novillo Astrada, Hublot had selected Argentina. A few weeks after these fruitful and cordial meetings, the famous “Perfect Match” was organised in Buenos Aires, bringing together the world’s best players. Hublot immediately made a commitment with them (and with Miguel) in the venture: which was to recreate a legendary match that had been held just once in the history of polo, in 1975, in which 8 players with a handicap of 10 (the highest qualification in this discipline) took part. The match, dubbed “80 Goals”, was held at the Centauros Club in Buenos Aires, with Hublot once again reaching the peak of the art of this sport.

In 2009, the “Perfect Match” is to be held for the first time outside Argentina, at Polo de Paris. Indeed, the Argentinian Polo Players’ Association wanted to export this extraordinary event. “Bagatelle” now offers a spectacle that is now to bear the name “Hublot, the Perfect Polo Match”. The Swiss watchmaker is delighted to associate its name with this prestigious match, which promises to live long in the memory… To mark this big premiere on European soil, Hublot has created a Big Bang with the effigy of the Paris Club, bearing the Polo de Paris logo on its dial, and with a “Hublot, the Perfect Polo Match” transfer on the back. The series comprises 50 numbered pieces.

The Hublot watches ambassador is a polo personality well-known for his extraordinary playing career, and who at 29 years old earned the privilege of becoming one of the few players in the world to have a handicap of 10. Coming from a family which had carried on the polo tradition for generations, along with his four brothers he is a member of one of the most successful teams in the history of polo, “Aguada Polo Club”, which embodies consistency in sporting excellence.
