Chapter 1.1 : Getting started : Leverage & Motivation

The call to Freedom! Freedom, of course, the ultimate leverage. Although not the only driver … to this noble feeling we need to add another necessary ingredient.

My dear friend Jack Sparrow, captain of the Black Pearl, expressed it so well in his motto engraved on his ship « I Pledge Allegiance To No One ».
That’s it! The other indispensable ingredient is « Rebelliousness ». And I can honestly say, for my part, that « Ego » is also to add to this energetic cocktail. We will come back to this specific point later in the story!
Not only pirates but also inventors or artists, or anyone with a sense of entrepreneurship knows that the call to Freedom enhanced by the taste of Rebelliousness can become the very powerful engine that leads to Independence.

Throughout the « Making of … Revelation » you will share with us the story of two designers who wanted to «make a living with their own creations ».
You will discover what happened from that very first day in the summer of 2005 when Olivier Leu and I decided to keep one of our ideas for ourselves instead of selling it to a well established brand, as we normally did.

As in any adventure story, the beginning is always pure and naive excitement.
So, for this first step, I let you enjoy the (enclosed) first Revelation Christmas card made in December 2007. It perfectly reflects the mood of the candid atmosphere that reigned at that time at 6, Rue du Collège at Lully-sur- Morges, Switzerland.
