Grande Seconde… At Jaquet Droz, these two words capture three centuries of history, a deep attachment to tradition and ongoing innovation. the Grande Seconde SW is not only a flagship model for the Manufacture but also celebrates its favorite number: 8. The ultra-modern “figure eight” design formed by the two dials of this watch has been revisited regularly since 2008. It explores new horizons by bringing a subtle combination of materials, textures and volumes into play.

The master dial-makers at the Manufacture chose black ceramic, scratch-proof and inalterable, for the fluted bezel of the Grande Seconde SW Steel – Ceramic, whose every groove is a technical exploit. The uniform brilliance of the black is emphasized by the gleaming steel, worked with painstaking care to highlight the architectural purity of this dial adorned with indicators and a hand painted blue with glowing Super-LumiNova.

Playing on the interaction between matte and polished surfaces, the Grande Seconde SW Red Gold – Titanium combines the great lightness and strength of titanium with the matte radiance of fine-brushed red gold. Made of woven carbon fibers, the geometrical motif ornamenting the background of the dial reflects the light in a different way every time the wearer moves his wrist. At night, the diffuse luminosity of white Super-LumiNova paint bears nocturnal witness to this unusual alloying of the legacy of history with the need to reinvent it.
