What remains from the Seventies is an unmistakable look and feel, captured in the icons and everyday objects of the time. In a tribute to this unique decade, its adventures and ever-expanding horizons, Glashütte Original dedicates a new masterpiece of German design and engineering: the Seventies Panorama Date.
Three new models present a compelling tribute to both German design and the traditions of mechanical watchmaking in Glashütte. The Seventies Panorama Date presents a distinctly Seventies character. The flowing curves of the streamlined steel case capture the spirit of the decade in a fascinating, iconic design. The dial, fashioned of German silver, is presented in galvanized silver, galvanized ruthenium, or blue. The ruthenium dial presents a sunburst surface, while the silver version is beautifully matt. The blue dial features finely graded shading passing from a lighter centre to a darker periphery.
The Glashütte Original Panorama Date takes pride of place, framed by applied indexes and hands in white or rose gold. The domed sapphire crystal case back offers the ultimate in wearability and comfort, and the polished/satin-finished stainless steel case and bracelet enhance the distinctive, vintage Seventies look and feel.
The flawlessly crafted four-link metal bracelet fits the wrist circumference of its wearer perfectly. Adjusting the individual length of the bracelet using the patented, innovative closing and adjusting mechanism designed just for Glashütte Original is easy. The integrated double G logo functions as both the clasp’s button and the activator for the fine adjustment mechanism, which can be adjusted a total of eight millimeters in eight steps, making it supremely comfortable. The elements are screwed to one another with no room for interplay between them so that they are much more stable than links joined by pins. The double security mechanism with two buttons on either side hinders an accidental opening of the clasp.
At the heart of our tribute to Seventies design is the proven Caliber 39-47 automatic movement. Clearly visible through the domed sapphire crystal case back, this finely finished movement was designed by Glashütte Original and crafted in the tradition-rich watchmaker’s own manufacture in Glashütte, the home of fine mechanical watches since 1845.
