Christian Redl, an extreme free-diver who makes dives of over 60 metres depth under ice or in caves, dives with variable weights and plays worldice-hockey championships under theice, is always seeking the ultimate extreme experience. Born in 1976, thisAustrian immediately chose water ashis playground and, having beaten 6world diving records, he is now a free diving instructor, sharing his passion and vision with all.

Diving under ice is without doubt his most extreme challenge. A new world record attempt awaits Christian Redl early in 2011 with adive under ice to a record depth of 60 metres. This will be the occasion for the Austrian free-diver to confirm his «Iceman» status and his masteryof the elements: cold, ice, water at 2 degrees temperature and pressure.

The watchmaker Edox is joining forces with Christian Redl to propose the new Iceman I in a limited edition. The spiritis definitely that of the sea, with hidden strengths and animal magnetism.The watch has all the attributes of an extreme timepiece: a wide diameterof 43 mm, a black PVD coating, anda black rubber strap resistant to seasalt. Moreover, it is water-resistant to a record 1000 metres and is equipped with the essential helium security valve. Readability underwater needs to beoptimal, so the dial in black carbonis decorated with orange hands and markings and sports Christian Redl’s name. To perfect the combination, the new Limited Edition Iceman I is equippedwith the automatic Edox 96 calibre as well as a splendid rotating black ceramic bezel. This new timepiece is limited to 700 pieces worldwide and comes with a certificate of authenticity and exclusive box.
