Döttling presents the smallest safe of the world: Colosimo

Döttling Colosimo“Big Jim” Colosimo (1878-1920) was a famous gangster boss who dominated the gangland of Chicago prior to Al Capone.
In Colosimo’s days the most spectacular bank vaults were built in the United States. Huge and incredibly thick round doors made of stainless steel with radially arranged, massive locking bolts. Those technical masterpieces should keep away gangsters like Colosimo from the treasures that were kept inside of those vaults.
Doettling was inspired by those victims of the days of prohibition to manufacture the smallest safe in the world, a miniature safe on a scale of 1:13.
This highly decorative table object is a real toy for big boys, especially for watch collectors, since the smoothly working locking mechanism has a strong affinity to the mechanism of important watch calibers. “Colosimo” is a 3year-development that coined the term “Haute Tresorologie” in the Döttling manufactory.
