Bovet DIMIER Recital 1
Barely five years after becoming the sole owner of BOVET 1822 and with an eye to its independence, convinced that therein lay the guarantee of irreproachable quality befitting his vision of luxury, Pascal Raffy acquired in 2006 two manufactories. Firstly DIMIER 1738, Manufacture de Haute Horlogerie Artisanale, located in the Bern Jura region, and secondly DIMIER 1738, Manufacture de cadrans et de sertissage, based in the canton of Geneva.
After recruiting the human resources that would safeguard the future of watchmaking’s decorative arts and the manufacture of timepieces with grand complications, for which BOVET has been famous since 1822, Pascal Raffy decided in 2007 to pay tribute to the savoir-faire of his craftsmen by creating the DIMIER Collection.
The DIMIER Collection stands apart from other BOVET timepieces by the absence of the traditional bow and the position of the crown at 3 o’clock, and also by the more conventional use of four horns for attachment of the bracelet. Despite this more contemporary aesthetic design and the use of modern materials such as titanium, timepieces in the DIMIER collection are manufactured with the same rigour and according to the same demanding quality and aesthetic criteria as those that have characterised BOVET and underpinned its success for nearly two centuries.
Since the launch of the Recital 1 in 2007, the first model produced by DIMIER, the collection has grown at the rate of one or two new models each year. Each of these creations is a timepiece developed, manufactured and decorated entirely in DIMIER workshops. From the cutting of teeth in the smallest pinion to the rare ability to master every stage in the manufacture of balance-springs, each step in the manufacturing process is magnified by the virtuosity of DIMIER craftsmen.
With the exception of the Recital 6, all timepieces in the DIMIER collection are equipped with movements regulated by tourbillons, together with other complications such as self-winding movements, power reserve, second time zone, jumping hour and large date.
Through the success of the DIMIER Collection, the House of BOVET once more gives full expression to its watchmaking expertise, responding precisely, ingeniously and without excess to the requirements of the most demanding collectors and enthusiasts of fine watchmaking.
