After the success of the two first ALPINA ” Extreme Diver 1000 Meters ” models launched in 2008, for this 2009 spring / summer season the ALPINA Manufacture presents four new versions in its diver’s collection, in resolutely trendy colors: “Yellowtail”, “Orange Sunset”, “Côte d’Azur”, and “Black Ocean”.
After having climbed the highest summits with its different collections like ALPINA Extreme Regulator, ALPINA Extreme Automatic and ALPINA Manufacture Regulator, the Swiss Watch Manufacturer ALPINA has also plunged to the depths of the ocean since last year.
With a sporty yet sophisticated design, the newly-released Alpina Extreme Diver 1000 Meters offers the same technical qualities as their big sisters: high readability & ultimate water resistance.
Equipped with a black PVD steel case of 48mm diameter, the new ALPINA diving watch is decked out with a unidirectional rotating bezel displaying a luminous minute indication. The bezel measures elapsed time in minutes for the first fifteen minutes and then in ten minute segments after that. The luminous triangle marker highlights the 12 o’clock position.
The automatic helium escape valve located on the edge at the 10 o’clock position is an essential feature of a diving watch. In fact, when diving tens of meters below sea level for long periods of time, helium atoms can build up in the case. These atoms could expand and damage the watch when
ascending. This escape valve, which is used during the decompression stop, allows the Alpina Extreme Diver 1000 Meters mechanism to remain intact. The new versions of the 2009 spring / summer collection, come in four dial finishing: “Yellowtail”, a yellow as bright as that of diving bottles, “Orange Sunset”, warm as a sunset on the beach, “Côte d’Azur” clear blue as the Mediterranean Sea and “Black Ocean” as black as the depths of the ocean.
The black dial, with the famous triangle pattern in the centre, offers an optimized readability to professional divers: Arabic figures, hands and applied indexes are colored corresponding to the respective version and equipped with SuperLuminova®. The date at 3 o’clock is displayed by a halfmoon shaped aperture.
Under the dial, the new Alpina Extreme Diver 1000 Meters features an automatic movement, caliber AL-525 with a power reserve of 42 hours.
Moreover it’s equipped with a signature black Alpina oscillating weight. The movement’s detailed finishing can be admired through the sapphire case back, a unique feature for a professional diving watch.
Because of its technical qualities, but also thanks to its “trendy” design, the new Alpina Extreme Diver will doubtlessly seduce the extreme professionals of the deep-seas. And not solely them…
